Public Relations shoot in a field in torrential weather.
I was asked if it would be possible to photograph Emily. With lots of public relations photography, we had a very tight deadline, so no matter the weather, I had to get out and create a picture that could accompany the piece. Emily specialises in agriculture, so it was important to capture a picture that could tell the story.
I met up with Emily in Bradford, West Yorkshire, in what can only be described as typical Yorkshire weather. There was pouring rain and strong winds, and we had a strict deadline, so it was time to start.
I will say Emily was absolutely brilliant. She was happy to work with any of my ideas, no matter how crazy, and we were on a mission to get it done. We first started in a field with cows, and the wind blew so hard it destroyed Emily's umbrella, and the cows ran away, so it wasn't going exactly to plan. However, when it's like this, it's like a puzzle: How can we create something press-worthy in torrential conditions?
Fortunately, we battled through and created some great pictures. The article and picture appeared in the Yorkshire Post, which was a win-win. A massive thank you goes out to Emily, who was absolutely amazing, didn't complain once, and we had a laugh doing it.
If you want a shoot no matter the weather then give me a shout.
