Event photography for Mito Mission Meet up 24
I had the pleasure of photographing the Mito Mission Meetup a couple of weeks ago. I am a great believer in helping people and love to help fantastic charities.
The meetup was at The Holiday Inn in Brighouse (where I live). The charity had arranged for 31 of their families to come and spend the weekend doing activities and learning from experts. I won't pretend to be an expert in mitochondria, but seeing so many amazing families was great.
As I arrived, I was greeted by a scene of pure joy. Families were outside, creating massive bubbles, engaging in various crafts, playing Playstation, building models with Lego, and enjoying many other activities. The children's laughter and the families' smiles were a testament to the joy they were experiencing. It was genuinely heartwarming to witness.
When photographing something like this, I aim to capture the fantastic event, its many smiling faces, various activities, and the whole event story. However, my main goal was to ensure I captured some lovely family pictures for everyone.
I didn't want to do anything too formal, as that's not my style, but I wanted to make sure that every family/mission had something special to take home, so throughout the day, I took these pictures.
Aside from the fun activities, the event also provided many educational opportunities. Experts were on hand to share their knowledge with the parents, and I captured these insightful moments. It was a great way for the families to learn and grow together.
In the afternoon, there was a petting zoo, which brought lots of smiles to people's faces. It was the first time I'd ever held a duck, so that was new.
The event was fantastic. Seeing how much this and the charity mean to the families was so good. When I do something like this, I never underestimate how much my pictures mean to everyone. It's a couple of days of my time to create pictures that could last a lifetime.
It was amazing to be a small part of this big day. If you would like some fab pictures that illustrate your story get in touch.
