Wedding at Cross House Lodge, Harome, North Yorkshire
Emma and Dave's wedding in North Yorkshire
One of the highlights of my 2018 weddings was photographing the intimate wedding of Emma and Dave at the amazing Cross House Lodge, Harome, North Yorkshire. Emma and Dave wanted an intimate and fun wedding and the Starr Inn/Cross House Lodge was absolutely perfect for this. The bride and groom only wanted their closest family and friends so there was a wonderfully friendly, intimate and relaxed atmosphere. I headed over early in the morning to photograph bridal preparations, it was lovely to see the bride and her family and friends setting up the ceremony room. The fab Victoria Farr was upstairs making everyone look gorgeous. The feeling was lovely and relaxed and I was treated like family, everyone just got on with things, chatted to me and let me get on with my job. It was lovely. Kids were running around, swinging on beds and generally being kids, I just got stuck in photographing them.
Dave the groom was very chilled out and really is one of the nicest people in the world. I met the lads across the road at The Starr Inn, Harome, North Yorkshire. The lads were all in good spirits and looking forward to the day. It was time for the ceremony which took place in the beautiful Wheelhouse at Cross House Lodge, the ceremony was really intimate and emotional it was brilliant. Loads of tears which is how a ceremony should be.
After the ceremony, everyone ventured outside. The brilliant Micheal Mulholland was in the garden providing loads of tunes on his guitar. There were garden games including rounders and sack races which are always great fun, I knew there would be loads of opportunities later in the day for drunk photos. It was lovely to see everyone, smiling and mingling.
When it was the time for the speeches it was evident to see how close everyone was and how special family and friends were to the couple. Dave the groom wrote a fabulous poem and there wasn't a dry eye in the place (not even mine but shhhhhhhh don't tell anyone).
After the wedding breakfast, it was time for drunk games. Rounders and sack races are always gonna be a big hit especially when folk have been having a few drinks. The weather was still beautiful and had some gorgeous golden light for a few portraits. In the evening people got on the dance floor, chatted. I always like it when something unusual happens and a chin-up competition certainly was a surprise it was loads of fun though.
This was a beautiful wedding with lots of fabulous people. Congratulations Emma and Dave and thanks for everything.
