Event photography for Grant Saunders, the UK’s number-one hypnotist

A few months ago, I headed to Sheffield to the OEC to photograph Grant Saunders, a hypnotist. Grant is one of my best friends, and it's always a pleasure to photograph him. It's funny, as I do forget how good Grant is, and I'm always amazed at his shows.

It was my first time at the OEC Sheffield, a fabulous and busy venue.

When photographing an event like this, I am always aware of getting in people's way, especially if they have paid to watch the show. So, I went full ninja mode and photographed from the front of the stage.

Grant allows me free access to these events, and just like always, I am there to capture the story. It's hard to photograph Grant performing as I always just want to watch, but I try my best to capture those real moments.

I love creating images and this kind of event. The lighting is always challenging, but I always manage.

If you have never seen Grant perform, you really should; it's hilarious.

The audience and participants loved the show; overall, it was very successful.
