Roller Girls at The Works
Every so often I need to remind myself about why I LOVE photography and just do something that I want to do. I spent a good twenty years of my life skateboarding around the streets and parks so it's great to sometimes return to this culture. My friend Helen who I used to work with when I worked in a skate shop is still massively into roller skating so every now and then I just head out to take some photos of her and her friends. I decided to meet them at The Works Skate Park in Leeds, West Yorkshire, I had no brief, no ideas I just headed over to see what would happen. I saw the girls skating this large bank trying to get airs and wallrides so I just set up some lights and just photographed what was happening. Here are just a few of the snaps I took that night. None of them are award winning or particularly great but it's just nice for me to get out and have a play every now and then.
