Potting Shed Spa
I’ve previously photographed the Potting Shed Spa which is a stunning multi-award-winning spa so when Sam called me to ask me for another shoot I was very excited! The last session was very chilled out but this was completely different in a manic kind of way. The brief was to: create pictures which shows a customer experience, photograph a public relations pictures for them, head shots of the owner and more shots of detail in a time frame of three hours.
I’m a great believer in telling stories and after a little discussion with Sam we decided we came up with a concept of capturing the whole story of a customer experience. Starting with a welcome greeting, to a drink on arrival, filling out a details form to treatments such as hot stone massage, waxing, eyebrows, nails etc. If was fun but a lot of work as I had to set lighting up quickly as treatment rooms are pretty dark.
In-between all of this I had to create some press shots for the spa to use as they’d recently been on a new ITV programme called Spa Wars, so I had about five minutes to come up with a couple of different concepts and photograph them (phew)! I had a right sweat on.
Sam also wanted to have a head shot taken but in a fun way. Fortunately, this is one of my forte’s and with a couple of attempts I’d nailed them.
This was a really fun shoot but I really had to think on my feet. Make sure you get yourself over to The Potting Shed Spa and also watch them on Spa Wars.
