Orange Box, Halifax, West Yorkshire
In December I’m photographing the KACCL event which will be a fabulous day. When I get involved in something I try to throw myself into it. The two charities that are involved are Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and The Orange Box Young Peoples Centre. I wanted to go along to the Orange Box to see what happens there.
Wow, what a place Orange Box is a state of the art centre for young people and it’s amazing. There’s so many activities on offer. I popped along to the half-term programme to shoot a few pictures. I was only there for a couple of hours, but I witnessed some fabulous karaoke (X-Factor Style), Zorbing, Table Tennis, scooter riding, skateboarding and I even saw the young people in the recording studio producing their own pop single.
There was a fabulous buzz about the whole place, the kids had loads of confidence and to be honest I did more talking than photographing but it was wonderful to witness young people thriving, enjoying themselves.
Orange Box is a very special place if you get the opportunity go along and see what happens there. Here’s a few of my favourite pictures from my time there.
