Meltham Memories 17 weekend
I love living in Meltham and was really looking forward to the Meltham Memories weekend it's a great event that brings everyone out. I was looking after the kids so these are only a few snap shots from the Saturday. It’s hard to photograph a parade when you’ve a 2-year-old on your knee :-)
The weekend has been fabulous, the whole village and half of Huddersfield turned up for the parade on Saturday. There were loads of folk in 1940’s fancy dress, lots of vehicles and stalls and a fabulous atmosphere. One of my personal highlights was watching my daughter and her school choir singing wartime songs. The other highlight was seeing the Spitfire flypast, I love the sound of these aircrafts and there's something very special about the way they manoeuvre. I've learned from experience to watch and not try to photograph them.
Well done to everyone involved, I’ve been informed that next year is going to be bigger and better because it’s the 10th year anniversary. Maybe I’ll get out and photograph it properly
