Wow, I do love my job and some days are just amazing! When my good friend Janet Bebb from Social Progress asked me if I would be interested in photographing Botafogo I thought all my birthdays at come at once. Not only was I going to get paid, but I was also going to get fed meat!
Botafogo needed some new imagery for their website and their social media campaigns so I was the chosen one. The brief was to capture the atmosphere and the whole experience at Botafogo. I arrived early and was faced with a dilemma. The restaurant was fairly dark for photography so I could set up lighting or try and use the ambient light that was there. As the restaurant was open for business I decided that lights may upset the customers so decided to shoot with no lights which wasn’t the easiest but I do like a challenge.
As well as feeding me, the owner had allowed Janet to invite some of her friends and colleagues which was a nice touch. If you’ve never been to Botafogo you need to go, especially if you’re a meet lover, the food is beautiful and never ending. I was amazed at how lovely the staff were, they were so happy to do anything. I shot lots of photos and ate even more meat, I could have kept going but as it was a school night and everyone else on the table had turned their placemats to red (stop feeding) I thought I’d best call it a night.
If you’re ever in Huddersfield and you feel hungry then make sure you go to Botafogo.
Here’s some of the pictures from the evening.
